Chinese PC vendor Lenovo is reportedly ready to join forces with a Japanese PC manufacturer NEC to compete to beat their competitors.

Both are now in the final stages of discussions to cooperate in the computer business. But a spokesman for Lenovo still has not been willing to provide information related to this news.

Based on data from research firm IDC, in 2009, Lenovo holds about eight percent of the global PC market share, making it ranks fourth after Hewlett-Packard, Dell and Acer.

NEC, it still ranks 12th in 2009 with market share of just 0.9 percent. But what makes Lenovo glance, NEC became large PC manufacturers in their home country, Japan.

Analysts assess that this cooperation for the NEC will be an important step in its efforts to adjust its operational strategy and concentrate on business investment in information and communications, such as cloud computing and next generation infrastructure.
